to: Team Lead Governance
Position – General Requirements and Description
The
position will report directly to the Team Lead Governance at PDP and will work
directly with CEO and Senior Management of DISCOs;
The
position will facilitate / advise the dedicated / separate legal department at
turnaround and Model DISCOs. There is a requirement to further strengthen the
legal team as well by inducting resources.
Position – Specific Role and Responsibilities
·
Liaising with the panel lawyers and outsource law firm for
effective handling of litigation matters of critical natures effective company
revenue extremely.
·
To facilitate rendering off legal opinion to the Board of
Directors, Chief Executive Officer and other functional heads of the company on
various legal issues.
·
Assisting in drafting, filing and presenting Multiyear Tariff
petitions and licensing issues before NEPRA.
·
Development of draft Energy Supply Agreement of Turnaround DISCO
and Model DISCO with NTDC / CPPA keeping in view the regulatory framework and
licensing obligation.
·
To assist PDP commercial team in legal matters pertaining the
theft of electricity by introducing the legal framework or alternatives
consistent with regulatory framework etc.
·
Review of Consumer Service Manual in the light of expected
implementation of CIS at turnaround and Model DISCOs
·
To review and develop the organization structure of legal
department including the job description of each of individual in the structure
so that structure could assist the
management in carrying out their functions as per legal corporate framework and
provide timely legal support in strategic decision making whenever needed.
·
To review set high standards for the performance of legal
department with the objective to provide best in class services and to ensure
the performance of the legal department meets all set KPIs.
·
To evaluate the company processes and identify major non-compliance
with the corporate regulatory framework and got it develop a plan for moving
towards its compliance over a period of time.
·
Any other tasks as assigned by the team lead
Requirements: Qualifications, Experience and Skills
·
Minimum a university degree, but preferably a Masters in Law
·
A minimum of ten years’ of relevant professional experience
·
Hands-on experience in the of dealing with the energy sector, and
more specifically the power sector covering entire supply chain, and related
corporate, regulatory & commercial matters and ancillary litigations
·
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
